G3’s Patents
G3 has an extensive patent portfolio that includes hundreds of patent applications and issued patents. The portfolio is by far the largest in the graphene industry, dwarfing all the rest. This includes well over 510 in the US, over 100 international, and over 250 in various foreign countries. The exact numbers change weekly and a substantial portion of them are not yet published. Many of the earliest patents in all of these fields the various graphene-related subject areas are managed by Nanotek Instruments, including the FIRST patent in the graphene field — U.S. Patent No. 7,071,258, entitled Nano-Scaled Graphene Plates, which was filed with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in October 2002.
Other subject areas for the patents include many types of graphene production and production of graphene nano-intermediates, transparent conductive films, heat spreaders, various coatings and films, a wide variety of battery technologies, and many others. The battery technologies include non-flammable electrolytes, lithium (and other alkali) metal batteries, lithium-ion batteries, new battery manufacturing processes, flexible batteries, fast-chargeable lithium batteries, lithium-sulfur cells, lithium-selenium cells, and “beyond lithium” chemistries.
